There will be a small window of time where there will be an overlap of membership with change of years. When that happens a member could have 2 entries show for a short period. When that happens be sure to use the one for the current year for the latest updated information.

We raise registered katahdins on grass and hay. No grain, no dirty rears, and no bad mothers are the rules on our farm. The flock lambs on solar or in our home field. They are outdoor sheep and thrive on native pastures and local grass hay. We select for parasite resistance (by “picking blueberries from the source” and doing FEC), rapid growth, good feet, and OPP resistance. Ewes lamb at 11-13 months and are expected to raise all of their lambs. Ram lambs are weaned at 110 days while the ewe lambs stay on their mothers until breeding time. We let the ewe’s decide when to wean the girls. We don’t separate ewe lambs from the main flock as keeping everyone together helps facilitate cultural knowledge transfer and intraflock relationships.
