2026 Symposium & Sale

EAPK Schedule – Friday, July 10, 2026:

• 12noon-3pm: Registration, Sheep check-in, etc.
• 3-6pm: “Practical Shepherding”
  • Hands-On activities: 4 stations
    • Feed, Water & Shelter
    • Lambing
    • Equipment & Handling
    • Recordkeeping
• 3pm – 5:30pm: Station Rotations – visit desired areas
• 5:30 – 6:00/6:15pm: Wrap-up: come together as a group to discuss what was learned at stations and share other ideas/ additional thoughts
• 7pm: Social & dinner (bring camp chairs)

EAPK Schedule – Saturday July 11^th: Classroom & Speakers

• 8-9 am – Registration
• 9-9:10am – Welcome
• 9:15 – 12:15 : Sessions
  • 9:15 – 10am: Parasite Management – Lee Wright
  • 10:10 – 11:10: NSIP – How to buy traits, not just numbers; selecting a ram, etc. – Dr. Debra Aaron (KY)
  • 11:15 – 12:15: Veterinary – when to call the vet, lambing, treating problems:  – (Dr. Katie Lukowicz (VA)(Louisa Veterinary)
• 12:15 – 1:15pm: LUNCH
• 1:15-2:15pm: EAPK Business Meeting
• 2:15 – 2:25pm: ASI & ALB Market Updates
• 2:30-3:30pm: Last session: PANEL DISCUSSION / Q&A/ WRAP-UP: Andrew Weaver – lead discussion (Moderator)
